Definition Post - Depth

Defintion - the distance from the top or surface to the bottom of something.

Depth of Field - the distance between the nearest and the furthest objects giving a focused image.

Shallow depth of field 
Aperture - F/2.8

This is a shallow depth of field because the amount of photo in focus is very small and a lot of the photo is blurred. The photographer has kept the  the focus point of the mushrooms at the front to keep the focus on the mushrooms.

Wide Depth of Field 
Aperture - F/16
This is a wide depth of field because a lot of the photo is in focus to really show the depth of the corridor. The wide depth has been used to show of the depth and show off the detail. 


This uses a shallow depth of field because the key focus of the picture is in focus and really showing the most important part of the picture and everything else is blurred. 


This photo uses a wide depth of field meaning that all of the photo is in focus and the main focus of the photo really shows the direction of the road and it has a vanishing point as you cannot see the end of the road. 

Personal definition - Depth is the difference between the front and the back of a picture which allows it to appear smaller.
