Below is a photo that I took at a rugby match at Twickenham of Owen Farrell doing a practice kick and  I felt that this also shows movement well.

Work Diary - Movement Home

Our homework for this week was to continue to shoot movement so on Saturday Night I went out and took photos with an extended shutter speed of cars on a motorway, light traces and fireworks. I wasn't able to get that many of the fireworks as they came very suddenly and then not at all for ages. I used shutter times of up to 15 seconds to try and get the best light trace I could on the motorway.

I like this photo because it really shows movement and shows the direction of the movement and it features through out the picture giving a complete sense of movement. I like the editing that I used on the photo as I was able to make the colours of the lights brighter and more vibrant. The editing really adds to the idea of movement. 

Below is a photo from the shoot that I don't like 

In this photo I was trying to capture fireworks however the fireworks just stopped meaning that I didn't get the shot I was looking for. I didn't realise that the fireworks were going to stop and mean that I wasn't going to get the shot I wanted. I don't like this photo because it doesn't show movement very well at all. 

Progression 

If I were to go out and shoot at home again I would try to go and shoot at the motorway during rush hour to try and get lots of lights on the road and I would like to have loads of different lights on the road. I would also like to shoot light traces but on a completely black background to really make the light trace pop.

Work Diary - Movement

During the lesson on Thursday we were asked to go out and shoot movement. We spent the beginning of the lesson learning about shutter speed and aperture in order to get the best photograph that you can. Going out and taking photos on Thursday was hard because it was raining so the lens kept getting wet and in a lot of the photos there are rain spots on them however often the were in the same direction as the movement so worked well.

I like this photo because it clearly shows the movement. I edited this photo to make the lights look brighter and help show the direction of movement. I like that it is just there at the edges of the photo and in the middle it is clearly there and you can't see through it. I like this photo because it is so simple and the movement is so clear yet it works so well and the bright read lights really just add to the movement of the photo 

Below is a photo from the shoot that I don't like 

I don't like this photo because the whole photo is out of focus. This is because at the time the photograph was taken it was beginning to rain and I wasn't concentrating on the photo completely. It would have made a really good photo if my full attention had been on the photo and not on other things at the time that the photo was taken. 

Progression 

If I were to go out and shoot movement again I would focus on the movement of people as I wasn't able to get these very well last time due to the weather and the lack of people that were out at the time. I would also try to get a clear photo of a car on the road with a blurred background.

I like this photo because it roughly shows the movement of the dice clearly and shows the path that the dice have taken to get to the point that they have got. I like that the path isn't clear and is quite jumbled up and its isn't clear exactly what path they took but you know the general path that they took. 

I like this image because it shows a complete motion and shows the whole movement. I like the fact that they all lay over each other really showing the direction of movement and gives the idea of a fluid movement as you can see it all the way through and isn't just one part of the movement. I like the use of colour as it really makes the woman stand out drawing the viewer in to the picture and showing the the movement of her whole body easily. 

I like this photo because the movement is clear through out the picture. I like this photo because the movement is simple and effective. This photo is very simple yet really shows off the whole movement. It is a photo that has been created multiple times but has to be created successfully in order to really show the complete movement. 

I like this photo because it shows ever slight movement of the man standing up I like this because only the start and end of the movement are clear and it looks like a concertina and really shows ever single slight movement involved in taking two steps. I like the editing used in the photo because it looks like the photo could be squished together and make one whole person. 

I like both of theses photos because the main focal point of the image is clear yet the background of the photo is blurry showing off the movement. I like the fact that you can see the person on the thing that is moving yet the background is blurry this shows movement in a different way as it isn't a lot of images laid over each other to show movement in a different way.

In this photo the whole movement is shown and the action is shown in its entirety giving a sense of completion. The key part of the movement is the clearest part of the photo but the start and end of the movement and less visible and are only faintly there. 

This photo the light shows the movement and gives the viewer a clear idea of what the movement is and shows clear movement through the direction of movement. 

In this photo the background is blurred to make the subject stand out and keep the viewers attention on the subject of the photo. 

In this photo the movement is natural and random because the people are moving in a random way to show different movement and how natural movement occurs.
