Definition Post - Landscape Photography

Landscape photography typically captures the presence of nature but can also focus on man-made features or disturbances of landscapes.

This photo uses a leading line and depth to show the landscape it has also been edited to show the different colours in the sky. This is a natural landscape with a man made road in the middle of it. 

This photo shows completely a natural landscape. The editing is well done and looks very natural. The photo uses depth to show the detail in to the landscape. 

 This is a man-made land scape because even though the you can not see the buildings in detail you can still tell where the landscape is. This landscape photo has been edited well to show off the different rays  coming off of the sun. 

This landscape shows off the season in which the photograph is taken and the use of the single person in the photo helps show that it is a slightly urban area but is still rural due to the trees.

The creation of a composite image is to transform a photograph into a desired image. 

In this photo the size of the person taking a photo has been manipulated to make it look like he is massive and the person is actually really small. 

In this photo the man mowing the lawn has been manipulated to make it look like he is really small and is shaving a mans beard. The manipulation of this photo has caused the photo to become surrealist. 

In this image the lightbulb and pear have been manipulated to look like they are one item and actually belong together. The photographer has even included the inside of the lightbulb in the pear to make it look even more realistic. 

This photo has a very strong meaning as it is like he is putting out days on his life by smoking. This photo uses photo manipulation to help people realise what smoking is doing.

Definition Post - Photo Documentary

Photo documentary usually refers to a popular form of photography used to chronicle both significant and relevant to history and historical events and everyday life. These photos tell a story. 

This photo documents the movement of the man and the ball and tells a clear story of what is happening .

This photo show the story of the children and gives the idea that they are trapped somewhere they don't want to be. This is shown through the fact that they are standing behind the barbed wire. 

In this photo a key moment is being documented as the little boy concentrates on not hurting himself as he falls down. This is a key moment as you can see how no one has noticed that he is falling over 

In this photo the photo is documenting the couple walking out of the church after their wedding. This is a really happy moment and allows them to look back on it a remember the moment well.

Definition Post - Portraiture

definition - a painting, drawing, sculpture or photograph of a person or group of people, showing of the expression of the person. Its intent is to display the likeness, personality and mood of the person. 

The person in the picture is looking directly at the camera and there is a clear expression on her face which shows the emotion in the photograph and that it is meant to be a happy photograph. This photo shows clear portraiture because the girl is in the centre of the photograph and she is the only thing in the photo. 

In this photo the person is not looking at the camera giving the idea that she is moody and her facial expression is very harsh. The fact that she isn't in the centre of the photo really gives the idea that she doesn't want to have her  photograph taken. The angle of her face and the fact that she isn't in the middle of the photograph really help adds to the mood of the photograph.

This portrait really gives a different message. It gives the idea that people are not always what they seem. In this photo the man has a deadpan look, showing no emotion, so as not to take away from the message of the photograph. These portrait is lit  from the left hand leaving the right hand side of the photograph and full of mystery. 

This photo is taken in a location really giving and idea as to why she is happy and you can guess what she is taking a photo of, the red lighting gives the idea that she in a dark venue and it is only lightly lit. The fact that she isn't in the foreground also helps the viewer to understand where she is and what she is doing.

Definition Post - Photojoiner

Joiner -  are a photographic technique in which one picture is assembled from several overlapping photographs. This can be done manually with prints or by using digital image editing software

 This photo is a joiner of a ladies face where multiple images of different sizes, that have been placed over each other to recreate her face. 

In this photo a landscape has been recreated through the use of different photos. The photo is not all filled in and isn't a perfect shape and the photos are all at different angles.

I like this photo because the images of the street are used to recreate the street and the shops that run along side the street. The images are all different sizes and at different angles give the street a sense that it is all there.

I like this photojoiner because it contains both a street and a person meaning that there are more than the one thing to consider when creating the joiner and making the photo look okay.

This is a shallow depth of field because the amount of photo in focus is very small and a lot of the photo is blurred. The photographer has kept the  the focus point of the mushrooms at the front to keep the focus on the mushrooms.

Wide Depth of Field

This is a wide depth of field because a lot of the photo is in focus to really show the depth of the corridor. The wide depth has been used to show of the depth and show off the detail. 

This uses a shallow depth of field because the key focus of the picture is in focus and really showing the most important part of the picture and everything else is blurred. 

This photo uses a wide depth of field meaning that all of the photo is in focus and the main focus of the photo really shows the direction of the road and it has a vanishing point as you cannot see the end of the road. 

Personal definition - Depth is the difference between the front and the back of a picture which allows it to appear smaller.

In this photo the whole movement is shown and the action is shown in its entirety giving a sense of completion. The key part of the movement is the clearest part of the photo but the start and end of the movement and less visible and are only faintly there. 

This photo the light shows the movement and gives the viewer a clear idea of what the movement is and shows clear movement through the direction of movement. 

In this photo the background is blurred to make the subject stand out and keep the viewers attention on the subject of the photo. 

In this photo the movement is natural and random because the people are moving in a random way to show different movement and how natural movement occurs.

In this photo the image its is a straight relocation caused by the light. the photo is very simple and the reflection of the man adds depth to the image and gives the viewer something else to look at within the photograph.

In this photo the refection from the glasses is actually showing the photo. What is being reflected isn't in the photograph and the relocation is well used to show both the surroundings and the couple in the reflection. 

In this photo the line of flamingos are clearly reflected in the water and the colour helps show off how clear the reflection is. This photo also uses lines to help show off the reflection of the birds and the reflection is very clear because of how well the legs merge into one. 

I like this image because the reflection is clear through out the whole of the picture and allows you to clear see the whole picture upside down. The reflection is so clear that the photo could be placed upside down and still look tyne right way up.

This image use geometric shapes in order to show shape it allows you to see the shape. The photo also shows of a geometric shape you the top of the building to show off a shape in the sky. This picture uses either squares or rectangles in order to to show of shape the best. 

This images uses the spiral of the stair case as a way to show of the shape of the stair case the angle of the photo really shows off the shape of the object that you wouldn't normally focus on and wouldn't normally look at . It uses as man-made geometric shape.

This photo uses multiple geometric shape to show off the shape of the poles it also uses the different lengths of the poles. The poles use black in the middle of them to add depth to the photo and really show of the shape of the pole as part of it is in the dark. 

This photo uses shadows as a way in which to show off the shape of the animal. It also uses the natural base of a leaf to keep the theme of nature running through opt he whole photograph. The photo uses the shadow really well because even though you can't see what the animal is you know what the animal is, even with the lack of colour.

In this photo the natural light from the sun has been used to highlight the different tones in the photograph. The natural lights also shows tone through the shadows created from tree branches

The tone in this photo is very light and means that the detail can be seen clearly. If the photo was dark it wouldn't work because the detail wouldn't be seen as well.

This photo uses tone to highlight the base of the eiffel tower and the lack of natural light means that the artificial light is well used to really make the different tones of the eiffel tower stand out. 

This tone is very different to the other tone photographs because it uses light tones to really show off all of the detail on the leaf and the detail of the water droplets.

Natural light and colour - the natural light in this photo helps its form to be clearly seen and the lack of colour, black and white, also helps to show the form of the photo. 

The use of  light and shadows has helped to show the form of the photo, if light that was too strong was used in the photo then all of the toes would not be seen and the form wouldn't be seen. 

The use of colour in the background has  been well used as it helps to show off the form and gives the photo depth and the different tones of the colour help to show of the form well.

Having the main focus point in the middle of the photo helps show form because to viewers eyes are instantly drawn to shape of the photo and how the form has been photographed

This photo uses a clear pattern and the patterns add to the photo to make it 3D. The photo follows a set pattern and this means that the photo has a clear pattern, 

This pattern is a break pattern, this is where there is a clear pattern but there is one thing that breaks this pattern, the red apple breaks the pattern and becomes the main focus of the photo and is where your eyes are instantly.

This photo contains multiple different patterns such as the pattern of dot on the basket ball and the pattern of lines around the ball. The use to 2 patterns really shows off the patterns along wit the different colours.

The pattern in this photo is clear but the different colours make the pattern look very mismatch and very interesting. The colour in the photo draws you in and all the different colours keep your interest.

Texture - refers to the tactile qualities of the physical surface of the object. In other words, how does the surface of the work feel when you touch it?

 The texture in this can be clearly seen through the different the different shapes of the ice but also through the different shadows and the different light used within the photos

 In this photo the different textures within the photo have been highlighted through the fact that the picture black and white. The different tones make the texture really stand out and show all the different textures. 

The difference in the lighting in these pictures is enough to show of the texture in the photograph and the side of the cup is featured in the photograph giving it depth and really showing of the texture.

The texture in this photo features throughout the whole picture, the dark shades that appear in the cracks within the really helps to show of the texture and the depth in the photo.
